4K video security from Sony delivers major benefits in operational efficiency for cities, transport networks and commercial facilities. Moving up to Sony 4K is a strategic investment – enabling more cost-effective security operations, innovative new services and safer, more satisfied customers at any time of the day or at night.
Extraordinary 4K imaging performance
Inside the SNC-VM772R video security camera you’ll find a high-performance 4K Exmor R™ CMOS sensor, lens and image processor developed by Sony. Together, they’re key to the extraordinary imaging performance of this ground-breaking camera that achieves unprecedented low light sensitivity. This helps the SNC-VM772R capture 4K images with clarity that’s beyond the reach of conventional security cameras.
See crucial details you’ve never seen before
The SNC-VM772R captures detail-packed 4K images (3840 x 2160 pixels) with four times the resolution of conventional Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels). Installed at the entrance of a building, the camera can survey a wide range of activities – from vandalism and theft to suspicious unattended objects – accurately identifying human faces with unprecedented clarity.
Clearer pictures, even in near darkness
Thanks to the high sensitivity of its large Exmor R™ CMOS sensor, the SNC-VM772R faithfully captures excellent 4K colour images with extremely low noise – even in near-dark conditions. Unlike other manufacturers’ 4K cameras, there’s no need to boost gain settings electronically or use harsh noise reduction: low-light pictures are wonderfully crisp, clear and natural.
Installed at a busy railway crossing or road junction, the camera’s high sensitivity ensures crisply detailed colour images, day and night – ensuring that incidents are always accurately documented.
This class-leading low light sensitivity is also invaluable in car parks, making it easier to see precise details of accidents involving vehicles, people and property.
For extreme lighting environments such as construction sites and outdoor storage areas, the camera's built-in IR illuminators can be used to capture clear B/W images, even in complete darkness.
Maximum detail where it matters
Intelligent Coding optimises efficient management of network bandwidth while maintaining 4K resolution where it’s needed. On roads and motorways, 4K resolution can be used to accurately recognise car number plates, while lower resolution can be specified for other areas of the scene, reducing data requirements by up to 50% compared with conventional network cameras.
Overview and close-up at the same time
Intelligent Cropping gives a wide area situational overview of the whole scene – like a construction site – plus a closer view of specific areas of interest at the same time. See the whole scene with Full HD resolution, plus up to four cropped image areas. This allows more efficient management of network bandwidth, reducing data storage requirements by up to 50% compared with conventional solutions.
Chase moving subjects
Ideal for monitoring building entrances and thoroughfares, Multi Tracking can recognise and dynamically track multiple subjects in separate windows – cutting the risk of missing suspicious activity. See an overview of the whole scene in Full HD resolution, plus cropped VGA images whenever unidentified visitors comes into the frame.
Best picture quality around the clock
Enjoy the best picture quality in any scene – at any time of day of night – without adjusting camera settings. Intelligent Scene Capture automatically adjusts white balance, contrast and noise reduction for optimum images, regardless of the weather, time and lighting conditions.
Documenting high quality evidence
In the event of road traffic accidents and other incidents, video footage from security cameras can be crucial supporting evidence for police and law enforcement officials. Evidence Shot captures high-resolution 20 megapixel still images that offer highly detailed documentary evidence for use in court proceedings.
